Shasta River
The Shasta River was once the most productive salmon stream in California for its size, with hundreds of thousands of salmon returning to spawn in its waters each year. Dramatic declines in fish production over the last century have prompted numerous groups to engage in Shasta River restoration in various ways. Restoring salmon in the Shasta River is a key priority in the overall restoration of Klamath River fisheries.
